About This Piece

Woodcut print realized by Escher for the series "Emblemata", and published in 1931. On Hollande van Gelder paper. Edition of 300. Unsigned, as issued. Excellent condition, matted. In this work, Escher realized 24 woodcuts depicting as many phrases created by his friend A.E. Drijfhout, alias G.J. Hoogewerff, in latin and dutch. Ref. 'Leven en werk van M.C.
