A rare Scandinavian mid-century modernist desk lamp, produced in Denmark in the 1940s. The model is attributed to Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen, a pioneer of functionalist design known for his modernist buildings as well as furniture and lighting fixtures. Crafted from brass, it features a sculptural shade adorned with a pattern of perforated stars. The shade can be tilted and pivoted, allowing the light to be adjusted in any direction. The quality is exceptional, combining industrial production with fine craftsmanship. with a cast iron weight fitted into the base, this fixture is remarkably sturdy.
