Vintage Design

A sculptural and highly recognizable set of six high-back “Razorblade” dining chairs designed by Henning (Henry) Kjærnulf and produced by E.G. Møbler in Denmark, circa 1960s.

Crafted in solid oak, these chairs exemplify the bold yet refined character of mid-century Scandinavian design. The distinctive high backs feature Kjærnulf’s iconic carved crest rail and expressive, wave-shaped slats, giving the chairs a strong architectural presence often associated with the Danish Brutalist aesthetic.

The finely detailed frames with turned legs and traditional joinery highlight the exceptional craftsmanship typical of Danish cabinetmaking from the period. The seats have been reupholstered, enhancing both comfort and visual balance while remaining respectful to the original design.
