Vintage Design

A pair of vintage English Windsor wheelback armchairs in the traditional country style. Each chair features a steam-bent hoop back with slender spindle supports and a distinctive wheelback splat, shaped arms on turned supports, and a broad saddle seat. The turned legs are joined by stretchers, combining strength with elegance, with the additional bracing spindles into the back for extra stiffness.

Crafted in the mid-20th century, these chairs revive the classic English Georgian and Regency Windsor forms while offering the sturdiness of vintage construction. The seats are made with oak veneer over a plywood core, complemented by a solid wood frame and turned legs, all finished in a warm stained polish. Both chairs are very solidly made and remain strong, stable, and practical for everyday use.Their timeless style makes them ideal as dining chairs, desk seating, or decorative accent chairs in rustic and contemporary interiors alike.
