Malachite a semi precious stone which was mined as early as 4000 BC
The stones name derives of the Latin word molochītis.
The green Malachite colors are very rich and pairs well with gold, copper and silver.
Malachite has often been one of the most favorate stone of the nobility's used for several decorative purposes over the centuries.
Some palaces like the Hermitage and Castillo de Chapultepec contain
a Malachite room.
And during the reign of Tsar Nicolas I in the 19th century decorative items of malachite were among the most popular diplomatic gifts.
