About This Piece

The Order is an original drawing artwork in black marker and watercolor on paper realized by Mino Maccari in the 1960s. Hand-signed by the artist on the lower right. Good conditions except for diffused foxings along the margins. Passepartout included: 40 x 50 cm. The artwork represents the scenery of a man ordering to a few people, The artwork is depicted skillfully through confident strokes in a well-balanced composition. Mino Maccari (Siena, 1898 – Rome, 1989) was a popular Italian painter and engraver. He produced many artworks through different graphic techniques. He exhibited at important international exhibitions in the fields of art and graphics. In 1959, he became the director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome; in 1963, he won't Antonio Feltrinelli prize for painting and became president of the San Luca Academy. He realized many lithographs and etchings of satirical and political subject matters. He was also famous for erotic and sexual drawings. He has worked for many years at Il Mondo.
