Pierre Jeanneret PJ-010806 ‘Easy Lounge’ Sofa & Armchairs Set 2 1958-59

Magnificent mid twentieth century Pierre Jeanneret Model PJ-010806 'Easy Lounge’ Sofa Suite' also known as ‘ Mobilier De Salon En Teck’ Chandigarh, India Circa 1958-59, this exquisite sofa and two matching armchairs are newly upholstered in black velvet with red piping, the backrest and seat slightly inclined and raised on signature Jeanneret ‘Compass’ inverted V legs in solid teak with flat profiled sides the arms with numbers denoting designation, the rear legs united by a supporting stretcher to the underside of the seat, the armrests with stuff over padded “Roll” arms, this set has been completely restored and newly upholstered in Chandigarh in accordance with original specification, as with all of our Pierre Jeanneret furniture these items will come with an extensive set of pre restoration images and a certificate of authenticity, we can also reupholster this sofa in any material of your choice should this colour scheme not work for your current project, reserve now.

Provenance: Panjab University (sector 14), student housing including "Hostel for girls" (1959), High Court (1960) and various administrative buildings in Chandigarh.

Condition: These items have been restored in Chandigarh, India to the highest possible standard and original specification, two small marks to one of the sofa arms, whilst importantly retaining all historical marks, scuffs, character and patina.
