The Ouarain Beni, composed of 17 tribes, constitute one of the Berber ethnicities of the Maghreb and occupy the north-east of Morocco, in the Middle Atlas. This region is hot in summer, but becomes cold, moist and snowy in winter, with more difficult living conditions. A detail that is not really one, since the climate explains largely the history of the rug. The Rural Community Beni Ouarain lives in particular of the breeding of sheep, but not anywhere. In connection with the nature and cold nights of the mountains, the sheep of the region have indeed developed a thick and quality wool. This is particularly the case of the race of marmoucha sheep. This breed has a long wool, ivory color, except on the head where wool is black. It is also the latter that is used to draw the patterns of the rugs.

Item will be left in its packaging after delivery.
