21_21 Design Sight

About this Museum

21_21 DESIGN SIGHT opened in 2007 in a park-like setting within the vast commercial and residential development, Tokyo Midtown. The facility is made up of two trapezoidal concrete, glass and steel buildings designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Tadao Ando. The programs are overseen by a tripartite directorship of Issey Miyake, Taku Satoh, and Naoto Fukasawa.

21_21 organizes conceptual exhibitions that aim to foster debate within the field of design and explore what design might be in the future.
