Perpetual Calendar from Birra Moretti, 1960s

About This Piece

Perpetual calendar of the famous Moretti Beer, stamped April 7, 1965 and made official with the payment of the advertising tax.

The mechanism of the calendar is sliding and perfectly working. The material that composes the calendar is a consistent plasticized cardboard.

The calendar has very slight signs of wear, but overall it is in excellent condition.

CURIOSITY: The history of the ''Moustache'' ....

In 1903 Birra Moretti became the beer of the Friulians and began to be appreciated outside the region. At the head of the brewery there is the commendatore Lao Menazzi Moretti. Besides beer, Lao has another great passion: photography. And it is thanks to a photo that Birra Moretti becomes the beer we all know. Lao meets by chance in town a moustached man who agrees to be photographed while sipping beer from a mug. When Lao opens his wallet to pay the gentleman, he begins with these words: ''HE OFFERED ME TO DRINK...ENOUGH THAT''
