Portrait of gentleman is an original lithograph on ivory-colored paper realized by the German artist and drawer Andreas Achenbach in the middle of the XIX Century. Signed on the lower right corner: A.Andréas. Original lithograph. Very good conditions. Interesting lithograph on paper depicting the figure of an old man sitting on an old desk with books. The man wears an elegant coat and a top hat. The work has been realized by the German artist Andreas Achenbach (Kassel, 1815 - Düsseldorf, 1910). Achenbach was a German landscape and seascape painter in the Romantic style. He is considered to be one of the founders of the Düsseldorf School. His brother Oswald was a landscape painter. They were known as the ''Apha and Omega'' of landscape painters. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a licence for export regardless of the work’s market price.
