About This Piece

Vintage Design

This De Sede RH 201 comes in a dark brown soft leather which is in excellent condition. The chair is supported on a solid metal frame made of chrome-plated flat steel. The chrome of the frame, like the leather, is in very good condition, not tarnished or attacked. The cubic structure of the chair with the sharp edges gives it its timeless and elegant appearance which fits perfectly into modern architecture.

The most famous Swiss architect and designer Robert Haussmann designed this armchair at the end of the 50s. De Sede took over the production. The Swiss manufacturer De Sede, known for its highest quality furniture, continues to produce elegant seating furniture in top quality to this day.

de Sede

Like many luxury leather goods brands, furniture-manufacturing company de Sede started out as a saddle-making atelier. Based in Klingnau—located in northern Switzerland near the German border—the company traces its high-end furniture production back to 1965, when the original family-run business incorporated and began to collaborate with international designers on the creation of handmade, premium-leather-clad chairs, lounges, and sofas. Over the years, de Sede’s product offering has expanded to include tables, beds, and more.
