Watercolor On Paper By Robert Louis Antral Scene Of Sinners This work was produced by Robert Louis Antral, it is a watercolor on paper, with the label still from the Mignon-Massart gallery in Nantes. The work is in a good state of conservation, it is no longer fixed in the frame. The pass is a little damaged, the frame too. Robert Antral, born in Châlons-en-Champagne (formerly Châlons-sur-Marne) on July 13, 1895 and died in Paris on June 7, 1939, is a French painter, engraver and lithographer called painters of the Marne valley. Robert Antral was born on July 13, 1895 in Châlons-sur-Marne. After studying at the School of Decorative Arts in Paris, interrupted by the 14-18 war from which he returned wounded, Robert Antral attended Cormon's studio. A watercolourist, he won the Blumenthal Prize in 1926. Member of the Salon des Indépendants, he exhibited paintings in the colors of the enclosed spaces of ports and suburbs. He is also a member of the Salon d'Automne. He produced a few posters, such as Le Jour de la Paix, which is kept at the Museum of Contemporary History in Paris, and collaborated with the weekly Floréal (1920-1923). He illustrates many works, for example for Mac Orlan À huis clos, in 1920, Maurice Genevoix, La Boîte à Pêche, in 1933, Henry de Monfreid Le Chant du Toukan, published in 1941, Rudyard Kipling Les Meilleur contes, in 1938, etc. A posthumous retrospective of his work took place in 1945 at the Galliera museum. An Antral Prize has been awarded for several years by the city of Paris. A bust of Antral made in bronze by Léon Borgey is kept at the Museum of Fine Arts and Archeology of Châlons-en-Champagne. It had been installed in a square in Châlons which bears his name and which was inaugurated on October 4, 1953. The photos are an integral part of the description.
