About This Piece

Vintage Design

A beautiful vintage Swedish flat-woven wool rug by Alice Wallebäck from the 1960s, featuring her woven initials (AW) in the lower corner. This Scandinavian Modern Rölakan rug showcases a geometric floral design in two tones of purple, pink, and yellow, set against a white background. This design is framed by a brown inner border and a solid pink outer border, adding depth and structure. Expertly handwoven using high-quality wool and linen, this rug exemplifies the fine craftsmanship and tradition of Scandinavian design. The high quality braided fringe along the top and bottom edges adds a charming, finishing touch. Dimensions: 245 x 170 cm Monogram signed: AW CONDITION This vintage rug is in good condition with signs of use and some sun bleaching on the front. The uplifted corner in the photos and the video highlights the color difference between the sun-bleached front and the original, darker pink underside. Please note that the brown dots visible near the monogram are from the embroidery and are not stains. The rug is reversible, though the reverse side lacks the monogram. However, the rug looks as new when having the reverse side up. The video shows the reverse side up, and the rug pictures shows the front side up. The wear on the sides of the rug is shown in the last four photos.
