This charming, small Japanese cabinet (possible name: Ko-dansu 小箪笥) is an authentic piece from the Taishō period, crafted from lightweight paulownia wood (kiri 桐).

The cabinet has a warm, natural patina that has developed over the years, adding timeless elegance to any interior.

Dimensions: height 31.5 cm, width 39.5 cm, depth 22.5 cm.

This unique cabinet is an ideal storage solution for small items such as sewing supplies, stationery, or other personal belongings.

A particularly decorative detail is the hand-carved origami motif in the shape of a crane (orizuru 折鶴) on the door.

The crane holds deep significance in Japanese culture, symbolizing peace, happiness, and long life.

Additionally, the frontal edge surrounding the cabinet is finished with the refined Kamakura Bori woodcarving technique (鎌倉彫), known for its intricate and elegant engravings.
