Set of 3 vintage wall sconces/wall lights, made of smoked acrylic glass, dating from the 1970's. The design features an oval-shaped, cylindrical form with ridges. The color of the acrylic glass ranges from a smokey brown to a copper/peach color, typical of the period (see photos). At the front, there is a hole at the center, and both above and below it, there is a slight split, which is part of the design, to make inserting a lightbulb easier (see photos). At the back of the interior of each sconce, there is a chrome-colored, saucer-shaped plate, to help diffuse the light. All 3 all have screw-in sockets to fit e27 light bulbs (not included). In the photos, you can see the type of light bulb previously used, which is a spotlight bulb, so the head of the lightbulb does not get too close to the plastic edges of the hole (see photo). Alternative bulbs can be used: for instance a flame-shaped bulb, a silver-capped bulb or even an edison bulb. The wattage of the bulb photographed in these images is 40 watts. We highly recommend a low-wattage bulb, as these can be very bright. There are 2 holes at the rear of the wall-mount systems, to enable them to be mounted onto a wall.
The lights are in overall, good and original vintage condition, with light signs and marks of age and previous usage commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time, on the overall frames. One small chip on the the edge of the hole of 1 sconce, at the top (see photo with 1 cent coin for perspective), and a small mark of previous usage, on the inner edge of the hole of a different sconce, (see photo), neither of which affect the functionality of the pieces. At the top of one of the wall mounts, there is a missing piece of plastic (see photos), but naturally, it will not be noticeable once installed, because it's hidden from the interior saucer and will stay flush against a wall. A cool trio of lights, that will look great in an entry hallway, bedroom or bathroom.
