Mid-century Murano sommerso glass ashtray / small bowl - Italy, 1960s. ''Sommerso'' is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s/60s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer. Blue, azure and clear glass. Height: 6 cm; diameter: 15 cm; width: 12 cm; depth: 12 cm. Very good vintage condition, light traces of use at the bottom.
