Wieki Somers at Gallery Kreo

The new lighting collection by Wieki Somers is totally wild and wonderful. This show made me proud to be part of the design world today. As always, this young designer from Rotterdam, delights us with unexpected, beautiful work. These seven Mitate floor lamps look like samurai proudly standing in line at the gallery. With their own identity, shape, and surface, each one shows off the perfect combination of artisanal craft and technology. Check out the virtues each light represents:

And if you'd like to know a little more about the designer and the lamps, in our feature story, Eastern Light, our own Anna Carnick chats with Wieki a few days before the exhibit opened.

Mitate at Galerie Kreo in Paris runs until September 21st, and is well worth the visit!
