Original surrealistic lithography from the 1960s. It is by the well-known Swedish auction painter and graphic artist Sven Jonson (1902-1981). Handwritten and numbered in pencil by the author. The lithograph is in the original period binding. Preserved in very good condition.

Sven Jonson (1902-1981) was Sweden's foremost surrealist painter. He was a member of the world famous group Halmstad.
In the initial period of his work, he was fascinated by cubism, he painted cubist series with sports motifs, such as Häcklöpare (1929) and Bandyspelaren (1930), and later focused only on Surrealism. Jonson's surrealism is characterized by abandoned landscapes in light yellow or brown tones. Often there are also small human figures that show human littleness. Architectural elements, arches, pillars etc. with long shadows are typical of his work.
Sven Jonson is represented at the National Museum and Museet Moderna in Stockholm, GÖTEBORGS Konstmuseum, Helsingborg Museum, Malmö Museum, Skissernas Museum in Lund, Museum of Modern Art in New York, Nasjonalgalleriet í Oslo, Center Culturel Suédois in Paris, Art Museum in Borås, Eskilstuna Art Museum, Länsmuseet Gävleborg and Norrköping Art Museum, Småland Museum, Halland Art Museum and Mjellby Art Museum, and in private collections around the world.
