About This Piece

Vintage Design

Decorative creamware ewer produced by Gustafsberg, Sweden, late 19th century.

The architectural body is richly moulded with classical motifs, including a mermaid figure in relief and scrolling vegetal ornament. The sculptural handle is formed as a flowing female figure, rising toward the fluted spout. The base features strapwork panels above a circular foot.

Stamped to underside.

Condition:
Very good antique condition. No structural damage. No cracks or chips. Minor leaf loss and light age staining consistent with age.
