Meet Else & Sam! Named after an artist couple who settled in Amsterdam in 1910, they are a one-of-a-kind set lovingly handcrafted from a pair of rare limited edition Royal Delft ( De Porceleyne Fles ) hexagonal vases in an elegant and minimal Art Deco style. The vases were created as a gift to celebrate the 50th anniversary (1941-1991) of the Technical Physics Department at TNO-TU (Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research at the Delft University of Technology)—50 YEARS OF TPD IN MOTION: Half a century of physics for practice. ( 50 JAAR TPD IN BEWEGING: Een halve eeuw natuurkunde voor de praktijk. ) Interestingly, Royal Delft is located directly across the street from TNO-TU in Delft! Maybe that sparked the idea for this lovely present… As far as we know only around 200 single vases were made in this design and they were never for sale. We’ve paired the vase bases with custom contemporary lampshades in a mustard and silver Art Deco scallop patterned jacquard fabric with an inner platinum lining along with matching silver-toned cords. Delivery Details
