About This Piece

Vintage Design

Pair of elegant 1970's table lamps by Charlotte Wawer. The bases are in brass and part covered by taupe suede. The hand made parchment shades creating a warm light. They are edged with a border of suede leather, bind with matching suede cord. The lamp holds the company label. The lamp holds two E27 light bulbs. Charlotte Wawer started designing lamps in Danzig, but she had to flee the city in 1945 and rebuilt her business in Osterode. The company, Charlotte Wawer Wohnraumleuchten, with about 50 employees, produced lampshades and lamps, characterized by a rich use of leather and parchment. The company was run by Charlotte, who designed all items, and her husband Clemens. Dimensions lamp shade; Height 35 cm, Diameter top 45 and bottom 48 cm.
