Vintage Design

An incomparably beautiful and tasteful cabinet in the very highest quality! The cabinet is designed by Johannes Andersen for Skaaning Møbler in Denmark with long elegant lines in a golden brown tone on the teak.

The furniture has five sliding doors with drawers, shelves that are all removable and removable and bar cabinets. In the middle there are four drawers, the top of which is divided for small picks. The drawers are made of hardwood as well as other furnishings in the cabinet.

The bar cabinet has two glass shelves with space with bottles etc in front and space for glass etc. below. Under the middle sliding door there is a teak board to pull out. Very handy for picking and unpacking in the cupboard, mixing and serving drinks etc.

On all doors there are neat integrated handles and on the drawers long slender handles that are softly shaped. All details on the cabinet are extremely well thought out with an expression of calm and harmony.

The cabinet stands on round tapered legs that are easy to disassemble during transport, for example.

The cabinet is in very good condition with only extremely small traces of use.
All in all, an incredibly well-made and worked piece of furniture that will of course be the home's highlight and centerpiece!

About the Creator

Johannes Andersen

While information on designer Johannes Andersen is limited and difficult to verify, it is believed that he was born in 1903 in Aarhus, Denmark, and that he initially apprenticed as a cabinetmaker. He went on to work for many years in a number of workshops before opening his own architectural and furniture workshop in the 1930s.

Andersen’s designs span seating, tables, and storage in well-crafted materials, such as rosewood and teak. His career paralleled the midcentury’s growing appreciation for Danish furniture designs, and he attracted international attention—particularly for coffee tables like the highly sculptural Smile Table.

Andersen worked steadily for his own firm—as well as Swedish, Danish, and Norwegian companies such as Trensum, CFC Silkeborg, Bramin, and Uldum Møbelfabrik—until he closed his shop in his eighties. He passed away in 1991.
