About This Piece

Vintage Design

An iconic design by Kaja Kristiansen, one of Denmark's most important modernist designers. Model 42 was designed in the 1950s and is still considered one of the most elegant and ergonomic chairs in the Danish Modern style.

The chairs are made of solid teak wood, with a characteristic, smoothly curved backrest and side supports that give them a sculptural look. The upholstered seat and backrest ensure high comfort, and the visually light form makes them a perfect fit for both classic and modern interiors.

Model 42 is an example of a masterful combination of functionality, aesthetics, and carpentry craftsmanship that defined Danish modernism. Today, it remains one of Kristiansen's most sought-after designs among collectors.
