Rare stunning paperweight by Alfredo Barbini (Murano, Italy, 1970s). Made of thick transparent Murano glass with a captured bubble. Minimalist and extremely decorative design. This paperweight is a great example of beautiful minimalist sculptural forms, which made Barbini a renowned creator. The paperweight is signed (etched signature). Diameter: 9.5 cm / 3.7''; height: 6.5 cm / 2.5''. Weight: 0.8 kg. Very good vintage condition, light wear consistent with age and use.

Alfredo Barbini was one of Murano’s leading figures of the 20th century. He was one of a few who embraced minimalism when Murano glass-makers were focused on colorful designs.
