We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning exceptionally rare original early Victorian Howard & Son’s Berners street tobacco brown leather fully restored Chesterfield buttoned sofa I have a Howard and Son's armchair listed under my other items that have just been restored to the same standard This sofa has been on a journey, as you can see from the pre-restoration pictures it came to me with a rather distressed period upholstery on it The back leg is stamped with the serial number, the castors are stamped Howard & Son's, it's very faded in places The sofa has been fully restored as you can see, it’s been reupholstered by a third generation Victorian upholsterer and then hand dyed this lovely tobacco brown color by my leather polishers, simply put this sofa is the finest example you will find anywhere today Howard & Son’s are simply put are the finest son and armchair makers in history, the Queen even has a private collection Dimensions Height 76 cm Width 187 cm Depth 83 cm.
