This chair is made of bent beech and beech plywood stained in black. The piece features an embossed stamp and paper label by J. & J. Kohn, one of the main producers of bentwood furniture in Austria apart from Thonet. At the turn of the century, Kohn was a very successful producer of modern furniture through the employment of well-known architects such as Josef Hoffmann, Kolo Moser, and Otto Wagner.
