Vintage Design

An impressive Vintage French Empire Revival burr walnut dining table and a set of six burr walnut dining chairs dating from the mid 20th Century. The circular burr-walnut top features satin wood cross-banding, the veneers with a lovely colour and grain. The top has a moulded edge over a frieze mounted with ormolu rosettes and raised on four tapering legs with gilt sabots. The table has one leaf which can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion and is raised on four elegantly carved legs that give the table its superb stability, and they terminate in brass cap castors.

The set of six Regency Revival burr walnut dining chairs comprises six side chairs. They are made of solid walnut with fabulous marquetry decoration and are raised on elegant reeded tapering front legs with sabre back legs. They all have drop in seats which are upholstered in a striking burgundy and gold fabric. The seat cushions can be removed to reveal cane seats which allow for cooler and more comfortable dining in the warmer summer months. This dining set will make a profound impact on your guests and will receive the maximum amount of attention wherever it is placed. Condition: In excellent condition having been beautifully cleaned, polished waxed and the chairs reupholstered in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation.
