A beautiful and rare pair of Model 411 Siesta Chairs, designed by VB Wilkins for G-Plan in 1956.⁠ Designed to give uniform support from the nape of the neck to the back of the knees, this armchair became a true classic as it gained a loving following.They feature beautifully angled lineage with splayed back legs that arch upwards towards their smooth, ergonomic armrests: simply stunning! The seat itself is a magnificent curved shape that lays perfectly within its wooden frame. The main structure is constructed from solid oak and the seat frame from a stained beech. ⁠This pair of chairs is unrestored, in the original velour fabric. A real sought after design classic! Size Approx: H to seat 44 cm. H to top of back 83 cm. W 67 cm. D 92 cm. In good used condition. Structurally sound. There are signs of wear commensurate with age, some scuffs, marks, chips and scratches to the wooden frames. These could be painted over, but they give the chairs a lovely vintage patina. The upholstery (a very pale pink/beige) is in fair condition with some minor marks and a small pull to the material on one of the chairs. Please see photos.
