Hand-knotted in lush, high-pile wool in Sweden circa 1960-1970, this 3x5 vintage Swedish Rya rug is a bold new addition to iconic, collectible mid-century Scandinavian rugs of this provenance. On the Design: This vintage Swedish Rya rug features a bold, painterly abstraction defined by strong horizontal banding intersected with vertical accents. The composition reads as a layered landscape of expressive forms, where dense blocks of color are punctuated by linear elements that create rhythm and structure. The high-pile wool softens the geometry, giving the design a tactile depth characteristic of mid-century Scandinavian weaving.
