Vintage Design

A large and very fine quality Louis XV style fire place in Carrara marble. The profusely carved frieze, protruding from beneath the mantle with gadrooned carved centre cartouche , surrounded by scrolls and foliage. The jambs having stiff Acanthus at the foot terminating in scrolled corner blocks, having scaled carving underneath bell drops. The jamb having foliage carving to centre, with panelled side returns. All beneath a deep and generous serpentine moulded shelf. A very well executed piece. Opening Sizes 112cm wide x 87cm high
