About This Piece

Vintage Design

Set of four dining chairs model Ariston with structure in curved plywood and black lacquered metal legs.
The Ariston chair was designed by Augusto Bozzi and manufactured by Saporiti during the 1950s (the manufacturer's label is visible under the chair structure).

The chair is made out of a plywood piece, curved in an elegant shape, with a very clean-cut line. The wood has a warm reddish undertone.
The wooden structure is supported by a thin spider base made of black lacquered metal, which gives the chair a light and elegant appearance.

Augusto Bozzi was an Italian designer. In the late 1940s, he started designing his iconic chairs and armchairs, and in 1950, he began a partnership with the Saporiti Italia company, an Italian manufacturer of furniture collections, to manufacture its designs. During the 1950s, Augusto Bozzi and Sergio Saporiti, Saporiti’s founder, worked alongside designers Alberto Rosselli and Giorgio Raimondi to create design objects and furniture with streamlined designs and innovative materials.
