Dry is an interchangeable and stackable totem shaped clothes dryer, realized in a series of four steel structures welded together in four interchangeable and adaptable forms, allowing the user to combine and realize numerable variations. Each element is lacquered in thermo acid colour, creating a dynamic silhouette and structure. The concept of ‘Dry’ is inspired by the functionality and arrangement of homes; both throughout the past and at present, paying attention to the evolution of homes and associated lifestyles, the utilization and economization of space and aiding the demand for multi-functional furniture. 'Dry' could be placed in a contemporary open plan space where utilitarian furnishings also evoke sculptural art installations. On the other hand, it also lends itself to integrated living areas where space is limited, allowing the user to stack for function, increasing the capacity of drying surface area as required. The ‘at home’ approach to assembly permits the user to create diverse structures and forms and to adapt the structure to their requirements of the space and task. Each element is conceived to be able to be stacked inside one another while unused, making storage and transportation easier. Furthermore, each piece is light, yet durable created in four aesthetically linear structures and four colors, offering variable dimensions of perspective and creating an exciting three-dimensional transposable structure.
