About This Piece

Emma's artwork is inspired by the Parisian luxury world of fashion, textures and pure colour. "Night 01" is a stylish and contemporary bright blue abstract painting. It is created using acrylic paint and pigment on board. This piece does come framed and ready to hang. "I work on a white surface, usually leaving the background pure, happily playing with the interaction of its texture with the paint. I create the colour by mixing paints, pigments, inks, playing with the paint dilution, exploiting its transparency effects, or its pigment accumulations. I try to emphasize the fluidity of the material, and look in the gesture for a balance between tension and slackening, concentration and spontaneity, in order to reach an equilibrium in the composition. The result is floating in a white space, like a calligraphic sign. The superimposition of its elements and the contrast between the density and the transparency give a sculptural dimension to the composition."
