Vintage Design

Very rare Flexi-Tube armchair also known as 'escargot' for the typical curved tubular sides. Originally conceived as garden armchair was designed in the 1950s by Lucien Illy in Nyons, in the southeastern France Drôme department. The Flexi-Tube armchair was appreciated for its flexibility and chosen by hoteliers and restaurateurs for the exclusive terraces of their venues in the French Riviera, Genève and Paris.

This very collectable piece was stripped of its original paint used to protect the outdoor furniture from rust and weather conditions and is now appreciated as iconic element in contemporary interior design.

All the wooden bars of the seat had been recreated with the exact original shape.
