About This Piece

A brilliantly executed mid century vintage oil portrait, painted onto canvas and housed in a very complementary frame. An elegant female figure with her hair up in a bun and dressed in light blue sits patiently on a chair, with her arms folded. Her blue dress contrasts beautifully with the abstract background on red. Large, expressive swathes of red, orange and brown fill the canvas, and yet the artist has very skilfully used the background to draw attention to the figure, despite the strong colouring. This lovely textured oil is ready to hang. It is housed in a lovely light blue frame that suits it wonderfully. Both frame and painting are in excellent vintage condition.
