Large Table Lamp in Blue and White from Delftware

Meet Samuel! Part of our exciting collaboration with the renowned 5 th generation Aronson Antiquairs of Amsterdam, Samuel is a one-of-a-kind lamp lovingly handcrafted from an authentic antique Delftware vase, circa 1700. We’ve paired it with a handmade custom contemporary lampshade made from a gorgeous Dupion silk in deep crimson with blue undertones. Only a few factories in Delft could beautifully recreate the typical seventeenth century decoration, originally found on Chinese porcelain. On Samuel we find a rare grouping of Chinese deities carrying banners and parasols and escorting a horse, that could have been made by Samuel van Eenhoorn , owner of The Greek A factory from 1678 through 1686. Samuel’s craftsmen and women were not only very skilled, they also created a vast network of clients all over Europe. The brass top has been custom cut to the exact shape of the vase base and the lamp is also fitted with a new matching dark red cord. E27 bulb fitting. We can adapt the plug depending on the country you will use it in. The lamp was made without harming or permanently altering the original vase in anyway.
