These Fischel no. 14 chairs (or "Kaffeehausstuhl") date from around 1920. They were designed 1859 by the founder of Thonet, Michael Thonet, and feature a wooden frame and a hand-woven rattan seat ("Wiener Geflecht"). Paper label "Fischel" underneath the seat. The Fischel no. 14 chair is depicted in the 1915 Fischel catalogue.

David Gabriel Fischel founded D.G. Fischel Sons in Niemes, Czechoslovakia, around 1870. Later Fischel also had a branch in Vienna. The firm existed till 1939.
