We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning fully restored cigar brown hand dyed leather Regency show framed armchair A very good looking and nicely refurbished piece. This is an original Regency circa 1810 armchair, the seat platform is all coil sprung, the leather individually hand nail tacked in place. The chair has the original brass castors. This chair is called a show frame armchair, it was made for an exhibition to attract attention and show off the craftsman skill, he would then take commissions on similar pieces It is fully restored as mentioned, the leather has been stripped back to the natural color of the hide, its then been hand dyed this glorious tobacco brown color, the timber has been lightly cleaned and French polished Dimensions: Height 64.5cm Width 73 cm Depth 71cm Seat height 40cm Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
