Claudio Salocchi
Internationally renowned designer and architect, Claudio Salocchi (Milan 1934 - 2012) is known in the field of industrial design for the design of pieces aimed at optimizing home and work space, in particular containers and tables characterized by innovative materials and techniques . In the 1960s Salocchi established a twenty-year creative partnership with Luigi Sormani (1923 - 2017), designer and entrepreneur who in 1961 had founded the homonymous design company, specialized in furniture in line with the Space Age and high tech materials. The collaboration resulted in iconic collections such as the Amina series, the Distico table, the Paione sofa or the Vivalda and Vivaldina armchair series. Salocchi was Vice President of the ADI-Association for Industrial Design, and in 1979 he obtained the Compasso d'Oro award for Metrosistema, kitchen equipment for homes and communities created for Alberti Arredamenti Cucine.
