Vintage Design

The iron frame of this French Sculptural Kobe floor lamp from the 1980s starts at the bottom with three flared and elegant legs. These ensure that the opening of the lamp starts about ten centimeters from the floor, creating a warm circle of light on the floor. The frame is covered with a beige canvas and allows for a soft light that shines through between the bamboo slats of which the outside is covered. The distance between the canvas and the slats is three centimeters, which provides an extra shadow effect. Its design transforms from a horizontal circle at the foot to a slanted ellipse at the top. Protruding irregularly at both the top and bottom, the slats are giving the sleek basic shape just that little bit of extra cachet. The wood is tightly woven into the five iron circles of the frame and giving this design an artisanal detail. This is a beautiful floor lamp with 'body' and is impressive in daylight but even more so in a dimmed setting. Light sources can be changed if desired, from soft and dark to brighter lights. The lamp is in good condition according to use and age. We believe that the small irregularities that the slats show here and there contribute to the beautiful vintage character.
