About This Piece

Vintage Design

This table lamp was designed and manufactured by Bernard Albin-Gras in France circa 1930. It is made from black laquered aluminium (shade) and steel and in a very good vintage condition. It can be fixed at a desk or board. Total height about 100cm, long arm 60cm, short arm 20cm.
In 1922 Bernard-Albin Gras designed a series of lamps for use in offices and in Industrial environments. Because of its great design and function Le Corbusier became soon supporter of Bernards-Albin Gras lamps using them in his own offices. Other famous clients of Lampe Gras: Eileen Gray, Robert Mallet-Stevens, Jacques Emile Ruhlmann.
The electrics have been renewed with a B22 socket and power the lamp new through a black, cloth-sheathed cable with ground contact.
