The Tulip Collection walks the line between classical and postmodern design—a poetic and practical glassware series by Memphis Group founding member Aldo Cibic.
At just 22 years old, Italian architect-designer Cibic moved to Milan in 1979 to work with Ettore Sottsass, and soon became a partner in his firm. The following year, Cibic joined Sottsass in founding the legendary and iconoclastic Memphis Group. His solo practice, launched in 1989, continues to be dedicated to human-centered public and domestic objects and environments.
Cibic designed the surprisingly accessible, cast glass Tulip Collection in 2004 for Milan-based tableware editor Paola C. The boldly simple geometric forms feel at once postmodern and archetypal—a functional solution that elevates the everyday.
