Maria Joanna Juchnowska was born in Poland in 1985. Juchnowska graduating with a degree in Product Design in 2010 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, Poland. That same year, she founded Mari JJ Design in Stockholm Sweden. She subsequently went on to study at the University of Arts, Craft and Design Konstfack in Stockholm, Sweden and graduated in 2011 with a Masters of Fine Arts.
Juchnowska has worked in the Tate Modern and Tate Britain and has participated in solo and group exhibitions in New York, London, Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Liverpool, Stockholm, Oslo, Athens, Bergen, Tunis, and Poland. In 2016, she was a guest teacher at Parsons School of Design in New York. Currently, Juchnowska lives in Oslo, Norway and works at Trafo Kunsthall Gallery in Asker, Norway. She operates between Poland and Norway for her ceramic work.
