About This Piece

Vintage Design

The Rare Organ Lamp is an original contemporary artwork made in Italy in the Seventies by Goffredo Reggiani. Made of brass and have a chrome coating. Made in Italy. Created for Mobili nella Valle. Series of 12 silver metal tubes of different heights that form an architectural spiral and are fixed on a circular base. The amount of light can be adjusted on the switch. Each tube is equipped with a light bulb (E14). The whole provides elegant and warm lighting. The object is beautiful both on and off.

The lamp is in good vintage condition. Minor traces of time on the chrome parts.

About the Creator

Goffredo Reggiani

Not a lot of biographical information is available on the Italian lighting designer and entrepreneur Goffredo Reggiani, however it can be surmised that he was particularly active in the lighting sector during the 1950s throughout the 1970s.

Reggiani founded his eponymous lighting factory in Brianza, Italy, a region known for its tradition in industry. In his designs, Reggiani utilized mainly chrome, as well as opaline glass and teak, to create Space Age designs, such as sputnik style chandeliers, globe-shaped table lamps, and floor lamps with trumpet-like diffusers. During the 1970s, Reggiani developed the first range of low voltage halogen lamps in Europe.

Today, the company is still in operation, creating interior and exterior lighting for both the private and public sectors.
