Vintage Design

An 18th century period Louis XVI fireplace executed in Italian Calacatta marble. Compact and attractive with slim tapering ribbon crossed fluted columns with Acanthus leaf corner blocks. The frieze with simple plain fielded panel to front. The interior slip with fine acanthus carving on both inside jamb and underneath the frieze. Above a shaped and moulded shelf. A petit and delicately carved surround in a pale and variegated Calacatta marble. Separate corner blocks, stone backing to frieze, jambs and all the tooling marks dating this Period surround Circa 1780 Opening Sizes 102cm w X 82cm h
